Worship

Worship services are held weekly on Sunday morning at 10:15. Praise and thanksgiving are essential components of human life, and our worship services allow us to be a community of praise together.

There is no dress code for worship. Some people come in collared shirts and dresses, in order communicate to God their reverence for the holiness of worship. Others come in jeans, feeling the comfort of the warmth of God’s presence. God loves and welcomes all regardless of appearance, caring more about our hearts, and we strive to follow Jesus’ example of hospitality and grace.

Children are not only welcome, but are a delight, in worship. We have a special Children’s Message for our young attenders. There is also a volunteer-staffed nursery for our youngest worshipers, but if you prefer to keep your small children with you in worship, we enjoy their voices and energy with us too.

If you are new to this gathering of disciples, please commune with us believing that Jesus is truly, really, and fully present for all of us who gather in his name, and especially when we share in this holy meal together.  We have gluten free wafers and grape juice for those who need them. If you or your child do not normally receive Holy Communion, you are still welcome to come forward to receive a blessing, offered by Pastor.  Please also let an usher or Pastor know if you are unable to come forward and would like the elements brought to you. Except for a couple of major holidays, we receive communion at the rail. Most people kneel, but not everyone is physically able to do so, and so others stand at the railing waiting to receive the real presence of Jesus communicated to us through the elements, the Word, the community, and God’s holy mystery. Through this Sacrament, we receive forgiveness of sin, refreshment of our souls, grace upon grace, and a closer connection to God and all who are in the care of God, now and forever.

There is a handicapped accessible bathroom in the lobby of the glass door entrance (the handicapped lot and brick sidewalk lead here). Also there are two newly renovated bathrooms in the basement that can be found by taking the steps at the rear of the nave.

Occasionally in the summer, you might find us worshiping outside at our lovely picnic shelter. We also have special services during Lent, Holy Week, and for Christmas Eve.

On the Sunday of the Evans City Pumpkinfest, usually the third Sunday of September (9/20 in 2026) we join the churches of our local ministerium in a joint Community Worship Service held at 10 am in front of our town firehall. There is no worship service in or building on that day.
